Religion plays a big part in the life of many of the inhabitants of Kaosidyl. Take e.g. the farmers; they do not sow the new seeds without asking Nodion to give them a greater yield of crops. Same with the sailors, they pray to Ation before setting sail.
In daily life they do not think so much about the gods, but live their lives according to their conscience.
Ascension within the religious hierarchy
If you seek a career in the clergy, the different religions have some form of ritual before being promoted within the hierarchy, and it doesn’t matter whether a player is level 1 or level 20.
The ritual can be many things, from drinking a cup of wine and reciting the sacred words of the deity to performing tasks where you need to travel all over the world. It is the Game Master who has the last word when determining what the ritual will be.
The titles within each religion are also very different, some run as you know it from the Catholic Church with a pope at the top, others use a monastic order style with an abbot at the top and some use a militant hierarchy with a temple master or temple commander at the top. Ask the Game Master what type of religion yours is.
Below is a list of the pantheon, and everybody worship the same gods. There are no specific pantheon for elves, dwarves etc. The peasant, the wood elf and the orc worship all the same gods, they might say the names differently, but that is about as different as it gets.
