Classes and Races

Like any role playing game, the players will need to make a character with all the abilities and other stuff that make a character complete.

Below you will find what races and classes available to the players in the world of Kaosidyl. Some of the races and classes from the official core books are not available to the players. If you as a GM want them to be included, then feel free to add them as you see fit.

Races
Most races from the official core books are allowed, only the following races are barred from players playing them: Half-Orc and Drow. The reason for this is either that they do not exist or it is grounded in the lore of the world with them being to different and frowned upon. Many perceives the barred races that do exist in the world as pure evil. The GM may of course allow these races, but the players should be ready to expect the ordinary people of the world to look at them strangely or outright attack them on sight. There is no doubt about the human race being the most widespread races of them all, they are everywhere where it is possible to make a settlement. This also results in the others races, while being player races, aren’t that numerous.

Classes
The classes from the official core books are allowed in Kaosidyl except the monk. It simply don’t fit into the current setting. If your GM want to allowed it is of course allowed, but the world is predominantly a European medieval setting and as such the monk is an Asian type class as it is based on the Shaolin monks. Classes from books after the core books are not available to the players from the beginning, unless the GM allows it.

Barbarian
The tribes of the cold north, the nomads from the plains and the “savages” from the jungle are all places a barbarian would call home. In the end your GM makes the call as to how your character fits into the world and therefore what your character calls home.

Bard
The bard is well suited as an adventurer. How else would you visit strange new places and experience things to sing and tell tall tales about?

Cleric
The primary healer of the game. You encounter the cleric every. They act like the local priest, bishops advising the king and a lot of other different places.

Druid
The druid are the person in closest contact with nature. Some might even go so far to call the druids  fanatical, as they tend to put nature first and everything else after that, which in the eyes of some does not make sense. The Druids are often seen in the company of animals that normally should either attack or run away from them.

Fighter
The fighter is the primary combat class. He or she is usually a strong and skilled user of many different weapons, armor and other fun stuff.

Paladin
A paladin is a holy warrior. He or she follows a god, sometimes very fanatical, and other times the exact opposite. A paladin is, for the most part, ready to sacrifice his life for the cause of his god.

Ranger
The ranger is, normally, a person who are at his or her best in the outdoors. They have jobs as forest rangers, scouts for armies, explorers and similar jobs.

Rogue
The thief, the assassin, the spy and more, a rogue are many things. They do well in the shadows from which they can use the moment of surprise to incapacitate their opponents.

Sorcerer
A sorcerer is a spellcaster who use their own inner magical energy to cast spells. They have an ability to find enough inner magical energy to access new spells.

Warlock
The warlock is defined by the fact that he or she has entered into a pact with a being from another plane. It can e.g. be a demon, in fact all other dimensional beings other than gods who have the ability to grant power. It is through this pact the warlock gain his or her powers.

Wizard
A wizard is a spellcaster in the most traditional sense. They are smart (for the most part) and have all their spells written down in spell books that they zealously guard. To get new spells, a wizard needs to learn them, either from others or from a book or the like.
